A couple of layouts, amidst the aftershocks...

Yes, Christchurch continues to rock and roll, six weeks after the big one we are sitting at approximately 1980 aftershocks ranging from 2.0 through to a couple of gnarly 5.0's.

However life has to go on, despite the fact your house has cracks that match the ones in your emotions. You have to do things that make you feel "normal" when so much of what is happening is anything but.

So with that in mind, when the call went out that there was going to be an Earthquake Relief Crop Day, in Christchurch, Invercargill and Wellington I thought there would be no better way to make things seem normal than to be involved with something I love. So on Saturday Ms Debs and I tootled off in her little purple car to Rolleston to scrap the day away.

There was one small hitch in the plan - I had snowboarded the day before, and managed to break or fracture my tailbone in the process. However armed with really good painkillers, and some sugar free sweets I got through almost the entire 12hours without too much hassle.

What better way to start than by sharing the layout of me snowboarding - or more realistically, sitting on my arse in the snow. I fell a lot. I laughed a lot. But the last time, the fateful time, I sure wasn't laughing!

This was from a sketch from Little Shop of Sketches and I quite enjoyed working from a plan.

Trina McClune had also supplied a sketch to all three crop locations, so I decided to do that one too (am so much more productive when someone ELSE supplies the blueprint!) using one of the great photos Matt took on his recent trip to France. Such a good son-of-a-scrapper he is, he even ensured he was IN some pics! I have around 1500 photos to go through and this is definitely one of my favourites!

I also started another layout and a class kit that was supplied to us, but will have to share them later when they are finished. Seeing as my butt is broken, it must mean I should spend a bit of time this week scrapping rather than risk making it worse with housework eh?

Sketches make scrapping so much easier. Your layouts look great and maybe one of those ring cushion thingies may have helped ease the pain.
